Other Activities

At Mediafleet we like to get involved in the fun aspects of life. Below are some of the examples where we have put our skills to use in a variety of different events and causes

Ford Ranger Wooden Spoon Lakeland Challenge.

The images above illustrate two of our support vehicles for this event.  In 3 out of 4 years the Mediafleet/Ford team has won best dressed vehicle, some consolation for taking on average 11 hours and 30 minutes to complete the challenge!

For the last four years Mediafleet has joined with Ford Motor Company to enter a joint team in this arduous team triathlon. The challenge entails up to 40 teams of four - three athletes and a support driver - to tackle England's longest lake, steepest road pass and highest mountain in the Lake District to raise money in aid of the Wooden Spoon Society for the benefit of children and young people challenged by mental, social and physical disadvantages.

Teams canoe the length of Lake Windermere (10.5 miles), cycle 26.5 miles over Hard Knott and Wrynose Pass (involving 1200 ft climbs at gradients of 1:3) then climb Scafell Pike - at 3208 ft, England's highest mountain - followed by an eight-mile run/walk into Langdale Valley - all in the space of 12 hours! Each team commits to raising at least £4000 for the Wooden Spoon, the charity of British and Irish rugby union, which currently has £3,006,334 funding 61 projects throughout the UK.  In the four years our Ford/Mediafleet team has been entered we conservatively estimate our team has contributed over £17,000 to the Wooden Spoon Society, a superb achievement!

The two race cars above have also been aided by Mediafleet.  The unmistakable image of a Ferrari 360 on the left features a car that competed successfully in the Ferrari 360 cup.  On the right the image depicts the team Think Clio racing (and winning) at Snetterton.
